JAG_FDP2 Basic skills in Flexible Sigmoidoscopy
This is an intensive, interactive, JAG-approved, practical course covering the theoretical basis of performing a safe flexible sigmoidoscopy and safe and effective peri-endoscopy management. Teaching involves practical small group work, seminar teaching, videos, practice on simulators and models. The whole 2nd day of the course is devoted to one-one practical flexible sigmoidoscopy teaching with patients. Teaching will involve a skills review and assessment with individualised learning outcomes and progression plans. 
Application criteria/ Target audience
The course is open to anyone whose future job role will involve regular lower gastrointestinal endoscopy flexible endoscopy. The course has been specifically designed to provide training for those individuals who are considering performing flexible sigmoidoscopy as part of the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme.

Unless advised by local training lead, trainees should not wait until basic skills course has been completed before doing any scope handling or intubation.

JAG_ENDO1 JETS Workforce ENDO1 (Half day classroom based course)
ENDO1 is a 1/2-day Joint Advisory Group (JAG) approved course for endoscopy workforce staff wishing to improve their skills in assisting endoscopic procedures.

The half day classroom based course is an intensive, interactive and practical course covering the theoretical and practical basis of assisting endoscopic procedures and caring for patients undergoing endoscopy.  

The course includes a series of interactive teaching sessions. The teaching focuses on the development of endoscopic assisting skills and reflection upon existing experience.

This course should be completed alongside the JETS Workforce elearning modules which are accessible via https://www.e-lfh.org.uk/programmes/endoscopy/.

JAG_CRP2 (M) Training the Colonoscopy Trainers (TCT)
This course is interactive and relies on delegate participation. There is a day of classroom/ seminar and model based teaching aimed at developing a training framework to apply to endoscopic training. Seminars, model work and group teaching are used. Day 2 is used to apply the knowledge from day 1 teaching in a clinical environment. 
Application criteria/ Target audience
All indepependent endoscopists who are involved in teaching and training in endoscopy.

The course may also be suitable for senior accredited trainees who wish to further develop their teaching skills. This course is essential for those wishing to become faculty at endoscopy training centres or train on JAG courses. Individuals must be independent and competent in the skills they are intending to train in before applying for the relevant training the trainers course.

Please note, this course is not designed to provide procedural skill improvement it is focused on developing trainer competencies and skills.

JAG_CDP1 Upskilling in Colonoscopy
Many established and independent colonoscopists now recognise the need to update their skills periodically. More robust departmental audits of performance data and the imminent move towards endoscopic revalidation have been the catalyst for the development of a colonoscopy upskilling course.

JAG_CTA1 Lower GI polypectomy skills
This is one-day intensive practical course using the WIMAT porcine model of endoscopic polypectomy. The course provides an overview and practical experience of how to perform safe and effective polypectomy. Hands on training will include practical polypectomy, tatooing, endoclip placement and endoscopic mucosal resection. 
Application criteria/ Target audience
Trainees from medical, surgical or other relevant backgrounds learning to perform endoscopic polypectomy. Consultants wishing to up date their skills are also welcome. Potential delegates should have the scope handling skills and experience of at least 50 colonoscopies or flexible sigmoidoscopies. More experienced endoscopists are also welcome.
